My thoughts on election day.

So I voted today.  Because I want to believe in the idealism of democracy, not because I actually think my vote mattered.  This is the problem.  We live a society where reasonably intelligent members of society feel disenfranchised.  I vote every year, and every year I become more and more disillusioned with the outcome.  So tonight, I will watch as the biased media spins its coverage of millions of voices together for change and I will mock them, for I know change will not be the outcome of tonight’s proceedings.  I happily endorsed the candidate whose views my closely match mine, because that is the person I want to represent me for the next four years.  My wish is that others were so informed rather than enamored by the glitz of catch phrases, facebook pages and Saturday Night Live sketches.
