If I was not a Real Estate professional, I would be a professional baseball player. Okay, correction, since I am not a professional baseball player, I became a Realtor. I remember as a kid we would play ball in my backyard almost everyday. I taught myself how to switch hit because I wanted to be like Pete Rose. I didn’t know why then, but I was a better hitter left handed than right handed. I have since solved that riddle, my dominant right eye was closer to the ball. I was so certain that I was going tear up big league pitching and get the game winning single in the World Series. Then of course, I turned 14 and the balls began curving during their trajectory toward home plate, effectively putting an end to my baseball career. But, I still believe that being a professional baseball player would be a great career.
My Mom asked me the other day why I have not been updating my blog. Well Mom, I am still a boy of Summer, and although I am not swinging for the fences, I am living vicariously through the Cubbies and their race. I am taking full advantage of these last few weeks of Summer here in my beautiful city. In the past month and half, I have been to four Cubs games, including one in Milwaukee on Monday, a White Sox game (Thanks Mark), a Bears game and I even went to the racetrack for Labor Day. Additionally, I have been canoeing in the river, playing tennis in Hamlin Park and I have been working on my golf swing at DIversey Harbor. So, in short, I have been a boy of summer and my blog has suffered. I am certain in the coming months of dreary Chicago winter, I will have much more time to spend updating the blog…that is, unless I decide to take up bob sledding, snow man building, curling or ice fishing.
Here are some photos of my summer of fun.
